Download your own music!

Have you used Limewire or Bearshare to download songs only to find out you didn't really download a song, it was either a virus or a song that had nothing to do with what you wanted??  Well there is a safer way to download, but it requires a few steps and some software ( free that is ! ). Ok this is what you will need to get started. RealPlayer Free version downloadable from http://www.real.com/realplayer/search . Any Video Converter http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/ .

Ok, go to www.youtube.com and find a song that you want. Start the song/video ( have to use Internet Explorer here ) and hover your mouse pointer over the top right of the video, notice the download with realplayer. Download the entire video. Then search your computer for *.flv ( flash video ) and find the song you just downloaded. Copy the file to a location easy to find. Then open Any Video Converter, add the video to the console and change your output option to whatever format you want. Also note the output folder where the converted files will be created.  You can also use Real Player or Any Video to create a file that will play on your mobile device as well.

Hope this provides a safer way to download the music you want in a clean format, but I'm not advocating downloading music, I'm just using a hypothetical "if" theory here as if someone would download music.

Computer Passwords

Ok, first technical post, strictly technically speaking. PCHELPUSCOM is in the trenches, works the front line in computer protection and security and we see a common problem with many computers. If you have a Windows XP computer, any version, you have a secret hidden account called the administrator which out of the box has no password set. It doesnt show its face automatically, but it is there, hidden. Only way to access this account is to go into safe mode. Then in safe mode you see the sneaky Administrator account. Well this account has a problem if it does not have a password or is not disabled, and by default it is not. The problem is a hacker can attempt to login to a computer with that administrator account and many times could be successful. Then can install programs at will that will take over your computer and even present you with an option to buy the software to help get rid of the viruses. If you buy the software, your personal information is on the internet, so you might as well cancel the card you just used. So in the art of protection, disable the administrator account, change or create a very complex password. If not, its like a home with no lock on the doors, would you attempt that? So why on the internet would you, even with attackers that you cannot see coming. Also stay up to date with Windows Updates and patches, Adobe Updates, Java Updates, Quicktime Updates, hopefully you get the picture. These patches close the door on your computer, which is what Hackers use to try to attempt login in the first place. You don't want to learn the hard way. Simon Says!
